FEMA says more than 230,000 New Yorkers have asked for assistance since the storm hit.
So far, more than 131,000 home inspections have been conducted by officials.
Workers are now going door-to-door explaining what types of disaster assistance is available and how to register.
Areas of New York that have received the most assistance include:
- Nassau County - $224 million
- Queens County - $170 million
- Richmond County - $70 million
