According to police, the shooting took place in the 1600 block of South Buckley Road around 12:30 p.m.
According to police, people were at the home when a man started acting erratically. The witnesses said the man was standing naked at the top of the stairs in the home. They called the paramedics.
Three Aurora Police officers arrived on the scene. When they arrived they found the man armed with a machete and a carving knife. A struggle ensued and two of the officers were hit.
The third officer fired at least one shot at the man, killing him.
The other two officers were not hurt.
The man who was killed has not been identified.
The officer who fired the shot is on paid administrative leave, pending an investigation.
