Hancock on Dec. 11 is holding a fundraising reception Dec. 11 in support of his campaign organization, Hancock for Denver at the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association at 290 E. Speer Blvd.
Guests may attend for $1,000 a piece, according to a flyer for the event that also says the maximum contribution is $3,000 a piece.
The event is being hosted by Tim Jackson and the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association. Co-hosts are Steve Farber, Bruce James, Mike Feeley and Melissa Kulpers. Hancock is coming off of what could be perceived as a huge referendum for his administration, winning 74 percent of the vote for the Measure 2A, which "de-Bruces" the city's property taxes.
Hancock hasn't formally announced that he will seek re-election for a second term. However, in April, the treasurer for Hancock for Denver filed documents with the Denver Clerk and Recorder's Office, formally establishing the organization as a political committee that intends to raise money for re-election in 2015.
