A surgeon has been found to fly there and perform the needed operation for the injured monkey.
The good news was posted on Facebook Wednesday:"Izzie has a vet!!! Thank you so much to all those who have helped locate vets, to persuade vets that they would like to see Belize... her operation is going to be this weekend."
The 10-week-old lost her mother to poachers. Now the pellets and fractures she got during the attack may also take her life if she does not get the surgery soon.
We first told you about the orphaned monkey Nov. 15 after Colorado State University graduate Molly Reeve introduced us.
Reeve works with Wildtracks animal rehabilitation center in Belize, where Izzie is recovering.
