The group gathered outside the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for Father Woody's gift day. More than 1,500 people each received a gift of $20 in cash.
Some people began lining up as early as 6 a.m. Monday.
The late Father Woody dedicated his life to serving the poor. He started the tradition of giving away $20 bills in the days leading up to Christmas.
