I-70 from Aurora to Burlington was shut down in both directions starting at 1:15 p.m. The westbound lanes have since reopened. Eastbound remains closed as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Travelers along Vail Pass had to wait in traffic for about an hour as CDOT performed avalanche control work.

Highway 40 between Limon and Kit Caron remains closed.  

Drivers traveling on eastbound I-70 east of Aurora are encouraged to take Highway 36 as an alternate route.
