At around 3 p.m., a driver heading eastbound on Colfax Avenue near Yosemite Street stuck the mother and child on the side of the street. The car then hit a building in the area.

All parties involved were taken to a local hospital. The infant suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Police believe the driver suffered from an undisclosed medical condition before the crash.
