As often happens, Gallup noted, "seven of those on the top 10 Most Admired Man list are from the world of U.S. government and politics: Obama, Mitt Romney, the two George Bushes, Bill Clinton, Ron Paul, and John McCain.

"One is from international politics -- Nelson Mandela -- and three are from religious vocations -- Billy Graham, Pope Benedict XVI, and the Dalai Lama."

Obama isn't the only government official on a hot streak: Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is the Most Admired Woman for the 11th year in a row.

Mrs. Clinton, the former first lady, has topped the list a total of 17 times, a record.

Obama has a ways to go before he can claim the men's record.

"Former General and U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower was the Most Admired Man 12 times, the most for any man, followed by Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton with eight first-place finishes each," said Gallup.
