At 10 a.m., Fort Collins Police Officer Dawn Johnsen was traveling eastbound in a marked car on East Prospect Road between Ukiah Lane and Ellis Street when a car traveling westbound on Prospect Road swerved into the eastbound travel lanes and struck her vehicle.

According to police, the officer took "evasive action" to avoid a head-on collision and the right front panels of the cars collided.

Johnsen was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police say the the driver of the other car did not have any apparent injuries.

The driver of the other car, 62-year-old Raymond Randall Reilly Jr., was taken into custody. Police believe that alcohol was factor, on Reilly's part, in the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Officer David Kaes at 970-221-6555.
