Every year, Visit Denver makes a big splash when it launches the menus of participating restaurants. On Wednesday, foodies went online to check out mouth-watering menus and make reservations.
"This will be the ninth Denver Restaurant Week," said Justin Bresler with VISIT DENVER, The Convention and Visitor's Bureau. "Last year there were 339 participating restaurants, which makes it the largest restaurant week in the country."
The two-week event throws a spotlight on Denver's vibrant restaurant scene.
During Denver Restaurant Week all the participating restaurants offer multi-course dinners for two for the mile high price of $52.80. One person can also dine for half that price.
"You're going to find some fantastic deals at some of the top restaurants in town," Bresler added.
The price does not include tax or gratuity. As for alcohol, sometimes it's included, sometimes it is not.
"Some of the restaurants will offer an additional cocktail or a glass of wine with the Restaurant Week menu," Bresler said.
If alcohol is not included, Bresler hopes diners will fatten Denver's economy, if finances allow it.
"With the great deal that you're getting, you know, splurge up. Get a great bottle of wine. Get a great couple of glasses of wine along with your dinner," Bresler said.
City leaders hope the event will encourage people to visit and vacation in our swing state.
Bresler offered some tricks to navigating Denver Restaurant Week.
"What I would recommend, is go to the site tomorrow once the menu is launched at 9 a.m."
More than 300 restaurants are registered, including many great independent, local eateries. However, not all menus will be online tomorrow.
"We'll have restaurants register for it up until it starts in late February," Bresler said. "We won't be done registering restaurants for a couple more weeks yet."
He is confident there will be something for everyone to choose from.
"There's restaurants downtown. There's restaurants in pretty much every neighborhood," Bresler added. "Down south, out west, all across the city restaurants are participating."
The list of restaurants is top secret until Wednesday morning. But Bresler is offering a sneak peek of just a few: The Palm, Fogo de Chao, Tag, Root Down, Steuben's, Elway's and Sullivan's.
