Police say the two boys, ages 12 and 16, stole a Dodge truck from a Weld County home, attempted to rob a Brighton gas station, successfully robbed another convenience store at gunpoint, and led police on a high speed chase.
Police got a call around 4 a.m. on the attempted robbery at the Western Convenience store at 1351 East Bridge Street in Brighton.
Witnesses told police the two juveniles entered the store with guns, and one of the males pointed his weapon at a customer inside the store. The pair reportedly fled the store after the customer began yelling at them, heading eastbound on Bridge Street in the stolen truck.
A short time later, police received a report of a robbery which had just occurred at the Valero station located at 4780 East Bromley Lane.
According to witnesses there, the two boys entered the business with guns and demanded money from the register, then fled in the Dodge truck.
Police later spotted the truck on Bromley Lane, just east of I-76. When police attempted to pull the truck over, the driver sped off and a short pursuit ensued.

The pair was located and arrested a short distance from the truck.
