Police car carrying 2 prisoners hits snowplow

The officer was driving northbound in the 8900 block of Highway 2 and lost control of the patrol car. The patrol car was struck by a southbound Commerce City snow plow.

The accident is under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol, per Commerce City Police Department policy.

The officer was transporting an adult man and woman to the Adams County Detention facility. Both prisoners were transported to a local hospital for evaluation as a precautionary measure. The officer and snow plow driver were not injured.

No additional information is available at this time.
