SEDALIA - A house caught fire on the 700 block of Coronado Drive near Sedalia around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
At this point, it appears the two-alarm fire started in a wood-burning stove in the Douglas County home. Investigators are still looking into the official cause.
One person was home at the time of the fire. She was able to make it out safely, along with her two dogs. However, one cat died in the fire.
The living room was significantly damaged. The fire did not spread to any of the area surrounding the home.
