LARIMER COUNTY - An Estes Park man was arrested on charges of manslaughter, menacing and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the gun-related death of a 16-year-old girl.
Thomas Decker Dodge, 21, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the Dec. 12 death of Miranda Ann Casey, also of Estes Park. The incident was at Dodge's home on the 100 block of Big Horn Drive in Estes Park, according to Estes Park Police Department.
The charges are all felonies, and Dodge's bond is set at $75,000. Police have declined to give more information on the circumstances of the allegations, and Dodge's arrest affidavit has been sealed by the court.
"He's such a good, sweet kid and that's not where he needs to be (jail)," Doge's employer Lisa Plume said. "He needs to be able to be out and grieving, and try to move on. He's been through enough. He's been through enough. He loved the girl that died, and wouldn't hurt her or anybody, not intentionally."
Dodge's previous criminal history includes Weld County charges of marijuana and paraphernalia possession and possession of a Schedule 4 controlled substance that resulted in a guilty plea to underaged possession of alcohol. Dodge also faces multiple pending traffic offenses.
His first appearance in 8th Judicial District Court is set for 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Larimer County Justice Center.
