KUSA - A business trip to Denver for a Department of Defense computer scientist will be one he remembers.
David Honeywell from Virginia claimed a $217 million Powerball jackpot Thursday.
He bought the winning ticket for the Feb. 6 drawing at a self-service machine at Richmond International Airport before leaving for a business trip to Denver.
The next morning when he got to Denver, he checked his ticket and called his wife Nancy with the good news.
The Virginia couple chose the one-time cash option payment of about $136 million before taxes.
