DENVER - A key vote on gun control took place Friday night after a marathon floor session at the State Capitol.

Ammunition limits for gun owners, fees for background checks, expanded background checks on firearm purchasers and limits on concealed weapons on public college campuses was advanced by the Democratic House after hours of emotional debate.

A final vote will take place Monday.

Members of the Colorado House of Representatives began the lengthy debate on gun control Friday morning.

GOP members debated at length over whether to accept a committee report on the gun magazine bill, calling a change from a 10-round maximum capacity to 15-rounds an arbitrary decision.

Democrats say it was not an arbitrary decision. They were responding to concerns raised in the committee hearing.
