DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Danica Patrick is already out of the Nationwide race at Daytona International Speedway.
Her car appears to have an engine problem and she took it to the garage with 88 laps remaining.
Patrick became the first woman to win a Sprint Cup pole and will start on the pole for Sunday's Daytona 500.
"Well that's concerning, when it starts," she said during a TV interview while hearing her crew try to re-start her car in the garage.
She said the car had trouble keeping pace with the pack and she knew something was wrong but was unsure what it may be.
Patrick started 12th in the 300-mile race that started at 1:15.
Teammate Tony Stewart, also in the field, started 10th.
