'Person of interest' sought in Lakewood Homicide

LAKEWOOD - Lakewood police are looking for Warren Dale Watson in connection to a homicide at a Lakewood office building Tuesday night.

The victim has been identified as 66-year-old Claudia D Miller of Lakewood. She was found dead by a cleaning crew around 7 p.m. inside the building at the corner of West Fourth Avenue and Union Boulevard.

Miller was an attorney and had a family law practice located in the building.

Police say there was obvious signs of trauma and do not believe they were self inflicted. 

Police say a black male was caught on surveillance video using Miller's credit cards at a Walmart store at 36th and Quebec Street as well as a King Soopers store at 28th and Quebec Street.

Police believe that man may be Warren Watson. They want to speak with him in regards to any knowledge he may have about Miller's murder. Watson is described as a black male approximately 5'06" tall and 170 lbs. Watson is known to wear glasses. Watson is a wanted fugitive on an unrelated case and there is an active warrant for his arrest. 

Detectives believe that Miller's vehicle was taken from the crime scene. Her vehicle is described as a black 2012 Honda Accord with Colorado plate 915-YTU. Detectives recovered her car in the north metro area on Thursday.

Lakewood Detectives are asking anyone who feels they may have information that would assist them in their investigation to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. You may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
