KUSA - Golden Police say a 46-year-old man was issued a summons for reckless endangerment, unlawful use of a firearm and discharging a firearm following a children's prank in Golden.
Just after midnight, four juveniles under the age of 12 were moving around the block of 17000 West 16th Avenue ringing doorbells and running off, according to Daryl Hollingsworth with the Golden Police Department.
The children rang the doorbell at Ture Hoefner's home and had come back to ring it again. Following the second prank, Hoefner retrieved his revolver inside the home and fired two rounds into the ground in the front yard.
He did not fire at the children nor were they on his lawn at the time of the incident.
No injuries were reported. Police contacted the parents of the juveniles who did not know they were outside at the time.
Officers seized the firearm. Hoefner has no prior criminal history.
His first court appearance is set for April 18.
