DENVER - A Denver police officer shot and wounded a 17-year-old boy while responding to a report of a stabbing near West 39th Avenue and Wolff Street Monday evening.
Police say the teen was wielding a large knife and made threatening remarks when officers arrived.
Multiple shots were fired at the teen when he refused commands to put the knife down, police said.
The teen was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The officer was not injured in the shooting.
Police did not find a stabbing victim when they arrived at the Highlands Neighborhood home.
