DENVER - Police have one person in custody after several garages and cars were broken into and set on fire in the Park Hill neighborhood.
Denver Fire Department Public Information Officer Mark Watson said the person was taken into custody for questioning.
Investigators are trying to determine if the person was involved in the overnight crime spree.
Watson said six vehicles and two garages were broken into. The garages and at least two of the vehicles were set on fire, as well as two Dumpsters.
Nothing appears to have been stolen from neither the garages nor the vehicles, Watson said.
The fires and break-ins were reported around 1:45 a.m. in the areas of East 23rd Avenue and Clermont Street, and between the 2600 block of Dahlia and the 2700 block of Clermont Streets.
Watson said the suspect was taken into custody in the area of 28th Avenue and Clermont Streets.
Arson investigators will be working in the area throughout the morning to determine the cause of the fires.
