ENGLEWOOD - The Denver Broncos added two new players to their roster during the NFL draft Friday.

Running back Montee Ball of Wisconsin and cornerback Kayvon Webster from the University of South Florida were selected in the second and third rounds.

By selecting Ball, the Broncos got the big running back they've been looking for.

The 5-foot-10, 217-pound back holds the NCAA Division I record with 83 touchdowns.

With Willis McGahee coming back from a knee injury and Knowshon Moreno still trying to live up to his first-round-draft status, the Broncos were looking for a big, every-down back.

When the 58th pick rolled around, they had two primary choices and went with Ball over Alabama's Eddie Lacy, who was still available.

In Ball, they got the Division I record holder in carries (924), rushing yards (5,140) and points scored (500), who said he wanted to pattern his game after Broncos great Terrell Davis.

in the third round of the NFL draft, the Denver Broncos selected speedy cornerback Kayvon Webster from the University of South Florida.

Webster, a surprise selection with the 90th overall pick, collected 190 tackles in his four seasons in college with 8 1-2 tackles for loss and three interceptions.

Broncos Executive Vice President John Elway said Webster "has excellent cover skills and speed, which you need in this league."
