KUSA - Memorial Day is when Americans take a moment to remember and appreciate the sacrifices members of the military have made - especially the ultimate sacrifice.
People mark the day in their own ways.
This Memorial Day, a Vietnam War veteran from Sterling remembered those he lost in his former career, with his current career, as a truck driver.
John Cudd was a sergeant in the Army. He enlisted in 1966 and deployed to Vietnam in 1967 as a part of the 2nd Battalion, 501st Infantry, 101st Airborne Division - also known as the Screaming Eagles.
He served one year in Vietnam.
Forty-seven years later Cudd still keeps in contact with some of the men he served with.
He's a big-rig truck driver now. In December he dropped his truck off for a few repairs. Six months later, those few repairs turned into a complete overhaul of the truck - including transforming the vehicle into a rolling war memorial for those he served with.
