KUSA - A curious young moose bull appears to have fallen for a statue installed in a yard in Grand Lake.
The statue went up less than a week ago, and for the past few days neighbors have been taking pictures and videos of the bull moose approaching - and mounting - the statue.
Bob Balink is a neighbor, one of many, who has witnessed the moose.
"There's two things he wants to do. And one of 'em is eat," said Balink.
"The strange thing is he's trying to mate with a statue," added Balink.
Both the bull moose and the statue are males.
The moose and the statue have become an unofficial tourist attraction in Grand Lake.
"He's in love. He's nuzzling, and he kisses and he walks around, and he...gets on top of him," said one woman, laughing, as she drove by to take a look.
Neighbors says they see plenty of wildlife in the Grand Lake area, but this particular combination appears to be a first.
The statue has yet to choose a suitor.
