Couple attacked at Lakewood light rail station

LAKEWOOD - Lakewood police are looking for three assailants after a couple was stabbed and pepper sprayed at the Lamar Light Rail Station in Lakewood.

It happened just before 2 a.m. Monday. Police say the couple were approached by three young males who asked the victims for a cigarette.

The couple attempted to leave at which time the three attackers pepper sprayed the husband and stabbed the wife in the neck and shoulder area. Police say no demand for money or property was made by the assailants.

The couple walked to a nearby fire station for help.

The suspects were described as Hispanic males all around 17-18 years old and ranged in height and weight from 5'6" - 5'11" 140-190 lbs. Suspect #1 had dark hair and was last seen wearing long sleeved red shirt, dark pants and light colored shoes. Suspect #2 had a black shirt, hoodie with short or rolled up sleeves, tan pants and a backpack. There was no clothing description on Suspect #3.

RTD surveillance cameras captured some images of the assailants.
