BRIGHTON - Summer is a beautiful time in Colorado, but for thousands of Adams County kids, summer means one thing - hunger.

More than 42,000 Adams County kids receive free or reduced price lunches in the school, but when summer comes, many of these children may face hunger. Adams County Fair decided to help.

Bring one or more canned food items to the Adams County Fair on Friday, Aug. 2 and receive $1 off an unlimited rides wristband. All food will go to a local food bank.

This summer, Adams County Fair has partnered with 9 Cares and the International Association of Fairs and Expositions to try and reach a goal of 10,000 pounds of canned food to benefit local food banks.

This is an opportunity for our community to stock the shelves of food pantries throughout Adams County with nutritious food for families facing hunger.

Simply bring your food/non-perishable items to the Adams County Fair on Friday, Aug. 2.

  • Brown or white rice (1 lb bags preferred)
  • Canned fruit and vegetables
  • Canned pinto beans
  • Canned spaghetti sauce
  • Dry pinto beans

  • Mac and cheese
  • Meals-in-a-can
