DENVER - The decision on exercise class fees in Washington Park could come as early as this week. Monday, a research committee will present its findings to the Denver City Council.
The council should decide by Tuesday on whether to accept the proposal, which includes designating a "workout area" in Washington Park and charging exercise groups a fee to work out there, according to Teddi Bryant with Hot Mamas Exercise.
Bryant was part of the group of businesses that gave advice to the research team. However, she says that none of that advice was taken. Her main concern is a proposal to charge groups to use the trails, which are open to the public. She says it would cost her hundreds of dollars a month.
"It's a public park. We should all be able to utilize the park," Bryant said.
She is worried it's going to affect more than just her and her Hot Mamas.
"It really is going to affect a lot of people and their lifestyles," Bryant said.
