KUSA - A 37-year-old community activist was arrested Friday night in connection to a shooting in Park Hill.

Terrance Terrell Roberts is being held on attempted first-degree murder and assault.

Roberts is the executive director of the Prodigal Son Initiative, an anti-gang program that says it has kept more than 400 kids out of gangs.

Police say the shooting happened around 6 p.m. Friday outside the Jack A. Vickers Boys & Girls Club in the 3300 block of Holly Street.

The after-school program was closed at the time of the shooting.

Denver Police say the victim was shot multiple times. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Roberts is scheduled to appear in court Saturday morning.
