Afghanistan- There are still tens of thousands of troops spending Thanksgiving in Afghanistan.
At Firebase Torkham, in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan, Thanksgiving started with a Turkey Trot.
At noon it was time for the traditional Thanksgiving meal. They soldier ate an estimated 70,000 pounds of turkey and 20,000 pies.
In an old military tradition, commanders served the lower ranks.
For most of the soldiers, this will likely be the last Thanksgiving in Afghanistan before coming home as the U.S. prepares to withdraw most troops by next summer.
