KUSA - Search warrants are being used to look through a student's home after several people were injured at a Douglas County school Tuesday morning.

Detectives were actively executing a search warrant on a home connected to the investigation at SkyView Academy.

Deputies say six people were treated and released after a chemical device ruptured in a classroom at the Highlands Ranch school. Two juveniles were taken into custody.

Detectives were seen going through the home of one of the juvenile suspects Tuesday evening.

Jerry Gifford, the teen's neighbor, said the student is very nice, intelligent and shy. He said the suspect's mother is crushed.

"I asked if she (the teen's mother) thought he would ever do something like that on purpose. She said, 'absolutely not. It was a total accident,'" Gifford said.

Investigators are consulting with prosecutors on possible charges against the two juveniles, both males. Their names haven't been released. Authorities haven't said if they were among the injured.

Ambulances took four students and a teacher to a hospital. Another student was taken there by family.

The classroom wasn't damaged.

SkyView offers pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade classes. Officials haven't identified the grade level of the classroom involved.
