Rockies will retire No. 17 to honor Todd Helton

KUSA - The Rockies will retire Todd Helton's No. 17 jersey to honor the longtime first baseman.

The ceremony will take place on August 17th at the end of weekend series that will celebrate Helton's seventeen year career with the organization.

Helton recorded 2,519 hits, 369 home runs and a .316 batting average during his career with the Rockies. He will also be the first number (other than Jackie Robinson's No. 42) to ever be retired by Colorado.
