Legitimate work at home opportunities

9News has explored two very good home based business opportunities that are producing good results for many of our viewers.

One is an opportunity for those who want to work for a company. The other is for those who are perhaps more entrepreneurial and who want to work for themselves.

Take Diane Levy for example. Diane is big self-starter and is very entrepreneurial. She's gone from selling real estate with her husband to representing a line of beauty products from an office in her basement recreation room.

She sells "Arbonne International" on a schedule most traditional workers could only dream of.

"You still have to put in your hours. So I probably put in two to three hours a day," says Diane.

She says business for her and other home based entrepreneurs in the company is good.

"I know a lot of people that are doing very well with Arbonne."

And Diane by the way is one of them. She's already qualified for a big prize. She's driving a brand new white Mercedes.

Lisa Seaman is another home based entrepreneur who works for a company. She has set up a basement office selling for Office Depot, a situation arranged for her by an online, Golden based company called Alpine Access.

She has two young daughters and didn't want to do anything out of the home. She also likes the idea of little adult interaction in her day.

"Sometimes nothing but the wiggles and hot dogs gets a little redundant," says Lisa.

She actually found the job through 9News. She was watching an earlier story we did on Alpine Access and work at home opportunities.

"We were watching 9News in bed that night and I saw the story- you had a couple of options on there. So I ran down to the computer and kind of checked them all out and basically just filled out an online application and heard from somebody within 48 hours."

Somebody from Alpine Access. This is a Legitimate "Work at Home" company that was hiring customer service representatives for a number of companies, and is still looking to hire a lot of people in Colorado now.

"We do it on behalf of large organizations. We take their customers service calls, inbound calls, but all of our employees actually do it from the comfort of their own home," says Allanna Kelsall of Alpine Access.

And there was no money up-front, a very important point says Lisa Seaman. Like many others, Lisa has discovered that many fraudulent companies will try to get money from you up front. It's money you more than likely will never see again.

"Most of the opportunities that you come across are like you know, you give us $500 and we'll give you something. Or send us $250 and we'll send you this or that. And most of those turn out to be people you're giving $250 or $500 dollars and you really don't get much or anything at all in return."

But she's doing great with Alpine Access. She already had a good computer and high speed internet so her start-up cost involved only the price of a new headset. That was a $75 investment, and now Lisa says the Christmas money is rolling in.
