Colorado PUC reopens case on RTD's rail crossing gates

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - The Colorado Public Utilities Commission decided Thursday it wants more information about RTD’s crossing gates.

The commission granted the Regional Transportation District’s request that it reconsider its September decision that the crossing gate systems weren’t good enough to dismiss the flaggers from intersections.

On Thursday, not only did the PUC decide to reopen the question, but the commissioners also consolidated all the gates on RTD’s A Line, 11, and the G Line, 15, into one docket and referred it to an administrative law judge, PUC spokesman Terry Bote said.

That kicks off a 10-day period to notify interested parties and allow them to signal their interest in taking part in the case.
