1 killed in Aurora shooting

AURORA - Police in Aurora are investigating a homicide after someone was shot and killed late Monday night.

The shooting happened in the 1900 block of Clinton Street around 10:20 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man in critical condition after being shot. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and died soon after his arrival.

The Aurora Police Major Crime/Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigators were called out to the scene and took over the investigation. Police have no solid suspect information at this time, and it is unclear what led up to the shooting.

Police are still trying to locate witnesses. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Detective Fronapfel at 303-739-6013. Witnesses can also provide information on this case and remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867) or text a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) and then use the title DMCS and enter the message. By doing so, witnesses may be eligible to earn a reward of up to $2,000.
