$17,000 in merchandise stolen from Aspen Gucci store

ASPEN, CO - The Aspen Police Department has confirmed that nearly $17,000 in merchandise was stolen from the local Gucci store on South Galena Street on Sunday.

Assistant Police Chief Bill Linn told 9NEWS that two men entered the store and asked to try on some shoes. They even bought two pairs using pre-paid debit cards.

After they left, employees noticed several items missing. The estimated value of the missing items is $17,000.

Police are reviewing surveillance video of the incident.
