2 teens arrested in Morgan County murders

The two suspects are being held in a juvenile detention facility without bond, and are slated to be advised of their charges in Morgan County District Court Friday morning.

MORGAN COUNTY - Two 17-year-old boys are in custody for their alleged involvement in the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in Morgan County last month.

The two teens are from Fort Morgan, the sheriff’s office said, and were arrested Wednesday night. Because they are under 18, their names are not being released.

Santos Macias, 41, and Destiny McMinn, 18, were reported missing back in April. At the time, authorities said the two were possibly in a relationship.

Macias’ body was found in a garage in the 19000 block of Highway 34 on April 17. He was wanted on drug charges before his death, the sheriff’s office said.

McMinn’s body was found on April 23 in the 9000 block of Road Q.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office says they’ve interviewed dozens of people and served several warrants since the bodies were found.

The two suspects are being held in a juvenile detention facility without bond, and are slated to be advised of their charges in Morgan County District Court Friday morning.

They face charges for first-degree murder.
