WESTMINSTER - Westminster Police are looking for a 28-year-old man after he did not appear for his sentencing.

Timothy Chavez is wanted on an active extradition warrant for a sexual assault that happened on Jan. 16, 2015 involving a 16-year-old victim.

Chavez is described as 5-feet, 8-inches tall with black hair and hazel eyes.

He has been charged with these crimes: kidnapping, false imprisonment, sexual assault by submission or force, harassment, sexual assault with a ten-year age difference and sexual contact with no consent.

Police say Chavez is currently at large in the community. They say it is in the best interest of the community to have Chavez taken into custody so he will not victimize another child.

He should be considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Westminster Police at 303-658-4360 or 911.

Anonymous tips can be given to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters may be eligible for a reward.
