Man in custody, another still sought after body found in car

JEFFERSON COUNTY - A man is in custody and another suspect is still being sought after a body was found in a vehicle parked in a Jefferson County neighborhood.

The victim, identified as 26-year-old Samuel Stewart, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, deputies say. His body was found in the 11300 block of West Maplewood Drive on May 1.

One suspect, identified as 27-year-old Jordan Lemarinel, was arrested on Friday on unrelated charges for drugs and weapons possession.

Another suspect, 56-year-old Kenneth Crise, remains on the loose.

Investigators don’t believe this was a random killing, though they did not shed further light on what the motive may be.
