Man pleads guilty to harassing Pitkin County camper

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - A Carbondale man has pleaded guilty in connection to an attack on a random camper sleeping in his car.

The Aspen Times reports that Garrett Hughes on Monday pleaded guilty to felony menacing and drunken driving as part of a plea agreement that will wipe the felony charge from his record as long as he serves whatever sentence he receives without issue.

According to court documents a 66-year-old man was sleeping in his car June 11 at a Carbondale campground when a man, later determined to be Hughes, entered his campsite in a truck and began driving in circles, honking the horn and flashing his headlights.

An hour later, Hughes returned and began doing the same thing before eventually exiting the car, grabbing the victim and threatening him with a weapon.
