NORTHGLENN - A man who carjacked two vehicles and tried to stab someone who wanted to intervene is on the loose, according to Northglenn Police.
A call first came in about the incident just before 1:30 p.m. A witness told police he spotted the suspect try to steal a vehicle at the Best Buy at 104 West 104th Avenue. The witness said when he tried to stop the suspect, he pulled a knife on him and tried to stab him, before running away.
The witness followed, and during the chase, he told police the man tried to break into several other vehicles. He lost the suspect near the Starbucks at West 104th Avenue and Bannock Street.
Northglenn Police say the suspect carjacked a Kia van at knifepoint that was leaving the parking lot.
He then turned onto 104th Avenue and hit and silver sedan. Police say the man then pulled into a McDonald’s down the road and carjacked a second car, described as a 2015 Dodge truck with license plate No. QWM-516.
The man was last seen headed westbound on 104th Avenue.
The witness who followed the suspect sustained a minor injury but refused treatment. No one else was injured.
Police describe the suspect as a 6', 150 pound white or Hispanic male with a short or dark-colored Mohawk. He was wearing a black hoodie.
