Murder charges pending after bat beating victim dies

BOULDER – The Boulder County District Attorney's Office is planning to file murder charges against two teens accused of beating a developmentally disabled man with a baseball bat.

Aaron Tuneberg, 30, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead Tuesday.

Austin Holford and Luke Pelham, both 18, were charged Monday with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault on an at-risk victim, aggravated robbery and first-degree burglary stemming from the March 31 beating.

Boulder County DA told 9NEWS that first and second-degree murder charges are now pending in the case.

Police say Tuneberg suffered serious head injuries when he was beaten with an aluminum baseball bat and a golf club during the theft of a Xbox video game console.
