Owner home as thieves steal locked F350 in broad daylight

NORTHGLENN - Pickups seem to be the vehicles of choice for thieves in Northglenn neighborhoods.

A team of thieves stole Vance Pierce's F350 less than four hours after he returned home Sunday after a weekend camping trip.

Pierce says he locked the diesel truck, went inside, had lunch, watched football, came back out and the truck was gone.

A surveillance camera on the side of his house recorded the crime.

"Soon as I unhooked it, unhooked it from the trailer, I locked it up, keys were in my pocket,” Pierce said. “So, I don't know how they got in the truck. There's no evidence of broken glass. So they must have shimmied it or something to get into the truck. Sounds like they knew what they were doing and what they were after."

Unfortunately, the surveillance video did not record images of the thieves or the license plates of other vehicles that sped away from the scene.
