JUDGE DENIES KILLER'S PAROLE - A woman convicted of killing her lover's wife in Colorado Springs in 1990 has been denied parole again.
The Gazette reports the State Board of Parole on Friday denied 54-year-old Jennifer Reali's request to be released.
She is serving a sentence through the Intensive Supervision Parole Inmate program and is living in her own apartment in the Denver area. The program targets low-risk inmates who are considered safe to manage in the community before their actual parole.
Reali was 28 when she shot and killed Dianne Hood, the mother of three and wife of Reali's lover, Brian Hood, outside a lupus support meeting.
Reali's life sentence was commuted by Gov. Bill Ritter in 2011, making her eligible for parole. In October 2014, she asked to be released because she had pancreatic cancer.
