LONGMONT - Police have arrested three suspects accused of stealing a car and shooting out of its windows with a BB gun.

It all started around 1:15 p.m. in the south and east part of Longmont.

The Longmont Police Department told 9NEWS windows were broken out in cars along the 1800 block of Summer Hawk as well as the Walmart on Highway 119 east of Longmont.

Police later found the stolen car, a blue 2009 Toyota sedan, abandoned in a ravine. The suspects were later reported to be in stolen 2013 Chrysler van taken in Erie.

At about 9 p.m., Lafayette Police were called to a Walmart in Lafayette after someone reported seeing the stolen vehicle.

Police found the vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot and put stop sticks underneath it.

The three suspects eventually left the store and got into the van. When they started driving away, the vehicle’s tires were flattened.

That’s when the driver rammed into two police vehicles in an attempt to flee. Shortly after, the three suspect got out of the vehicle and started to run.

Officers tracked them down and took all three suspects into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
