COLORADO SPRINGS - Police say a teen they spotted scaling down a gas pipe at a local business was responsible for burglaries at the Alpine Autism Center and Grand Centennial Apartments where iPads, desktop computers and laptops were all stolen and sold online.
The suspect, who hasn’t been identified because he is a juvenile, was arrested on Oct. 17. When police found him, he was in possession of burglary tools.
Authorities later learned he had an accomplice who was also a teen.
Though a small amount of stolen property was recovered, Colorado Springs Police say some items are still missing.
Those include 18 iPads (both full-size and minis) from the Autism Center, as well as 10 Dell Optiplex 3020 desktop computers and Latitude and Inspiron laptops.
Anyone who bought one of these items through a website from a local seller – and who believe they may have been stolen – is asked to call Colorado Springs Police at 719-444-7000 with a serial number.
