Photo shared by Kearney PD not Amber Alert pair

KUSA - The Texas Bureau of Investigation has confirmed that the two people seen in a photo by the Kearney Police Department are not the suspect and victim in an Amber Alert stemming from Columbia, Tennessee.

The search for Elizabeth Thomas, 15, and Tad Cummins, 50, continues, TBI spokesperson Josh DeVine tweeted.

Kearney, Nebraska is located around two and a half hours from Colorado by way of Interstate 80.

Thomas and Cummins were last seen the morning of March 13 in Columbia, Tennessee, 9NEWS sister station WBIR reports. An Amber Alert was issued the following day.

Investigators say Cummins “manipulated” and kidnapped Thomas, who was one of his former students. He was suspended from his job after allegations surfaced of a sexual interaction between him and a minor.

The school fired Cummins the day the Amber Alert was issued.
