Police investigate Englewood crash, shooting

ENGLEWOOD - Around 9:18 p.m. on Sunday, Englewood Police responded to the area of South Broadway and West Tufts Avenue on reports of shots fired.

While officers went to the scene, they were told of a vehicle crash on West Tufts Avenue.

Witnesses say six rounds were fired into the air from a white SUV, which was the vehicle involved in the wreck.

After the shots were fired, the SUV continued westbound on West Tufts Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control and rolled the SUV several times near South Galapago Street, hitting a parked car.

The driver was pulled from the SUV and seen getting into a black sedan. The sedan was later found at a home in Denver.

One man was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. His condition is not known.

Several shell casings and a handgun were found near the scene of the wreck.

The investigation is ongoing.
