Police on the hunt for hit-and-run driver who may have killed a man in Weld Co.

State troopers still don't know who was driving the cars that are believed to have hit the young man.

KUSA - Police are on the lookout for the driver of a 1999 or 2000 purple Honda Accord with driver side damage who was likely involved in a hit-and-run accident along County Road 54 early Saturday morning in Weld County.

Someone reported seeing a body in the 20000 block of County Road 54 in rural Weld County at 4:44 a.m. - but there are no witnesses to the crime at this point, according to Colorado State Patrol investigators.

The information about the vehicle comes from a side view mirror that investigators found at the scene.

If anyone has seen an older-model purple Honda Accord with driver-side front-end damage or happens to know something about the deadly crash, please call CSP at 970-590-7196.

The victim has not been identified by authorities, but he is believed to be a 21-year-old man.

A spokesperson for CSP also said they believe a second car was involved in this auto-ped accident. They describe the vehicle as a 2009-2011 gray VW Golf GTI.

The spokesperson said their agency believes the pedestrian was likely killed by the first car - the Honda Accord - and that is the car they are most concerned with. There is likely no visible damage to the car, CSP said.

However, if you've seen the gray GTI, please call CSP as well at 970-590-7196.
