Armed hit-and-run suspect arrested near Congress Park

DENVER - An armed hit-and-run suspect was arrested near Congress Park Saturday morning after a short foot pursuit, according to Denver Police. 

The hit-and-run happened just before 9 a.m. on 6th Avenue and Steele Street. The suspect was taken into custody five blocks away, near East 11th Avenue and Steele Street. 

The suspect has not yet been identified. 

There was heavy police presence in the area as officers worked to apprehend the suspect.
