DENVER - A customer at a Highlands restaurant was seriously injured after being stabbed on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Denver Police Department, a customer stabbed another customer at Mead St. Station in the Highlands neighborhood. It was earlier reported a server was stabbed, but the owner of the restaurant told 9NEWS it was in fact a customer.
DPD told 9NEWS the victim has very serious injuries and has been taken to the hospital.
The owner of the bar said the person came up and started cutting the victim's neck.
Neighboring business owners say they saw the victim holding his throat as he was loaded onto an ambulance.
The name of the victim has not been released at this time. DPD says the suspect is a 6 foot 3 inch tall black male who weighs between 250 and 300 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and khaki shorts.
Mead St. Station will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
